The Gaming Commission Board consists of seven members that are elected by the members of the Hannahville Indian Community. The Commission operates independently of casino management and is the regulatory body of the Island Resort and Casino. The board members are responsible for upholding the integrity and accountability of the Tribe’s gaming operations. The commissioners review and approve regulations related to gaming, as well as conducting oversight hearings and monitoring of gaming related casino activity.
General office staff that work under the authority of the Gaming Commission Board currently consists of a full-time compliance officer, as well as a full-time gaming license background investigator. Commission office staff are responsible for background investigations, internal auditing, monitoring surveillance department operations, conducting gaming software verification, gaming violation investigations, and striving to ensure safety of both staff and customers while on the gaming property.
